Signs Now have been working with Derbyshire County Council since 2012. We have to re-tender every year and we have won the contract every year, including for 2015, to manufacture bus stop signage.

There are 2 different signs that we manufacture for them. The first is foamex boards to go in bus shelters to inform the public transport users of routes available via each bus. The second is the board to be fixed to upright bus stop posts, which is printed foamex with an aluminium angle applied with screw holes pre-drilled to be fixed to existing posts.

Sizes supplied range from 540mm x 340mm up to 1100mm x 340mm. In total their most recent order included 58 signs of varying sizes.

Normally the council will send over a document with requirements for each sign and Dave in our design department will transfer that onto our template to produce artwork proofs. All signs had to be individually proofed and the proofs then had to be sent over to the customer for sign off. Once signed off, we look to complete the signs ready to deliver to the council offices within 10 days on average, ready for them to install.

“In Derbyshire we have several thousand bus stops throughout the county and there is an on-going requirement to replace and update many of the signs for these. Working with Signs Now we have developed a product which is durable and very well presented. The production process enables bespoke individual signs to be produced with the greatest of ease and often to tight deadlines.

The finished products have been very well received and I would have no hesitation in recommending Signs Now to others who may have similar requirements.”
